Tourist information
Thanks to its unique location, surrounded by the Pacific on just about every side on a thin stretch of the North Island, Auckland is completed by the lush subtropical forests of the nearby hills and islands. Auckland City lies between the Waitemata and Manukau Harbours. The lively waterfront is good place to start an exploration of the city, with its classy America's Cup Village and new Princes Wharf development.
Climate
The warmer weather arrives between November and April and hits its peak during summer school holidays (end of December - late January).
January and February are the best beach-weather months, but December and March are usually warm- even hot at times.
